Artistic Statement
My work is developed as a questioning and vindication of civilization and the succession of ideas throughout humanity.
Theoretical Processes
My aim is to turn spirals of social and natural erosion into spirals of abundance and productivity. Using metaphors from the natural world helps us to see ourselves as part of nature.
An important part of my artistic process is the selection of references that I use as a starting point for my work.
I use readings from psychoanalysts, writers, politicians and visionaries that I interpret and decontextualize, looking for new relationships and meanings.
I build theories of my own experiences. I create conceptual works, whose resulting intention is to help a system become more and more self-sustaining and abundant. I use permaculture and art to encourage self-resilience and self-reliance.
The connection between elements and the points where several branches of research are intercepted are, in my opinion, the most fertile areas. Interdisciplinary or trans-disciplinary and post-studio art, specifically in concerning collaboration and specifically ecology are areas full of possibilities for discovery, novel development and true solutions to the ecological crisis of the XXI century. What makes the world interesting is the interaction between the objects and not the objects themselves.Icons such as Aristotle, Galileo, and da Vinci are examples of old masters with a multi-faceted mentality John Von Neumann and Herbert Simon belong to our contemporaneity.
My process produces a continuous dialogue between virtual image, sculpture, photography and painting, contained in the final result.
With this dynamic mentality I always have the advantage of having a unique perspective.
In a world increasingly dominated by machines, it is essential to be versatile, being able to discover the links that connect the classic disciplines until finding an interdisciplinary study. Philosophy, psychology, science, economics and art maintain the same basis and starting point.
Plastic Processes
What really inspires me about the creative process is the ability to reach our emotional side through the intellectual in the most direct way possible. The excitement of human intelligence and evolution in all its meanings. The spiritual questioning and rationality.
The iconic permanence of the image, the strangeness of the perceptual, the power of forms, the structures of visual culture, the changes in contemporary aesthetics are my current objects of analysis.
My work is a constant meeting and dialogue between things and the coexistence of opposites. I use artistic resources such as repetition, arbitrariness and accumulation to create my work. Cultivating minimalism by the absence of colour and rediscoveries of the texture of the material is essential to stimulate voluntary self-limitation.
Finally, I share the poetry of simplicity, which is between the natural and the ecological, captivating the viewer through the contemplation of an object or an experience.
As Leonardo da Vinci would remind himself,
"Study the science of art. Study the art of science. Develop your senses, especially learn to see. Realize that everything connects with everything else. "
